The days are getting shorter and the air is cooler as the Autumn leaves fall. In our QiGong practice, we prepare our bodies and minds for the coming winter season. Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us to harmonize ourselves with nature for optimal health and well-being. Using the ancient wisdom of Five Elements Theory, we can understand how to avoid illness and experience excellent health all year long. Please join us in a workshop focusing on the health of our lungs and preparing our bodies for the winter season. Master FaXiang Hou, a fifth generation master of Qi Gong will share his knowledge and practical skills in this workshop. He will teach how to connect with universal energy (chi or qi) to benefit your lungs and boost the entire immune system with simple but effective exercises. He will also teach which foods are best to support your lungs and your immune system. Master Hou will also teach  remedies for colds and flu that can be used to help anyone in your family if they have symptoms. We are looking forward to seeing you in the workshop!

Master FaXiang Hou

Master FaXiang Hou is the founder and director of the QiGong Research Society. He has an extensive background and training in authentic traditional methods which he uses to give healing treatments to his patients and to teach his students healing through the power of nature, which is accessible to all of us.

Early training and roots

At the age of 13, Master Hou began training in traditional QiGong healing under the guidance of his father in China. Master Hou is a fifth generation master of his family’s Medical QiGong, herbalism, and other traditional healing methods. After completing his studies with his father, Master Hou went on to study with five other accomplished QiGong masters of varying specialties thereby adding to his knowledge and skills.

Research and Recognition

Master Hou traveled to the United States in the early 1990’s. While treating patients here, he became active in research using QiGong as a treatment for AIDS. Since that time, Master Hou has conducted QiGong research for diseases including Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis of the knee. Gaining recognition for his teaching, research and treatments, he has received invitations to teach and speak in many locations and venues. For example, in 2017, Master Hou was an invited speaker at the East-West Integrative Medical For Immunology & Wellness at Icahn School of Medicine in New York City.

Master Hou is committed to integrating QiGong healing with the western medical community. He believes that QiGong exercise and treatment can help people throughout the entire world including in industrialized and developing countries. Therefore, he remains committed to sharing and demonstrating the effectiveness of QiGong with both the general public and the medical community. For example, in the near future, there are plans to do clinical trials using QiGong for lower back pain at New York Medical College.
