About the Foundation Course

This hour-long class introduces the basic theories, concepts, and foundational exercises of Master Hou's form of Chinese QiGong.  Traditionally, QiGong is a method of bringing yourself into balance  with universal life force in order to rejuvenate, invigorate, and heal.  In this class, the concept of Qi (vital energy), traditional Chinese medical theory, and health-promoting applications will be explained, explored, and experienced, in a series of gentle yet powerful exercises that promote coordination of mind, body, breath, and energy. Students of all ages and physical  conditions are taught to perceive, and then circulate and store energy within their own bodies. There will also be an introduction on how to use QiGong to help promote healing in others. Although this is a foundation class which teaches the basics of QiGong, it can be taken many times with great benefit. Repetition of the class leads to greater understanding and proficiency in connecting with vital energy to promote a vibrant state of health and tranquility of mind. 


Although this course is conducted by distance learning, Master Hou interacts with each student, encouraging him or her, correcting mistakes in practice, and answering questions.
