About Master Faxiang Hou

Master Faxiang Hou is the founder and director of the Qigong Research Society. He has an extensive background and training in authentic traditional healing methods which he uses to give treatments to his patients and to teach his students self-healing through the power of nature, which is accessible to all of us.

At the age of 13 , Master Hou began training in his family’s traditional Qigong healing in China under the guidance of his father. The Hou family has maintained this healing tradition for generations. Master Hou explained that his forefather, five generations ago, journeyed to a temple in Tibet seeking a means of increasing longevity for his family. The knowledge that he received was brought back to China and has been handed down over the generations within the Hou Family ever since. Master Hou, after receiving his father’s tutelage in this ancestral tradition, went on to study with five other accomplished Qigong masters of varying specialties thereby adding to his body knowledge and skills. Over the course of his lifetime, Master Hou has treated thousands of patients and has refined his ability to help patients to heal through the use of this ancient wisdom and technology.

Qigong Therapy: Outlook for the Future

Qigong Therapy: Outlook for the Future

Master Hou is committed to integrating Qigong healing with the western medical community. He believes that Qigong exercise and treatment can help people throughout the world in both industrialized and developing countries. In industrialized nations, Qigong therapy can help to treat many conditions that may not typically respond to western medical treatment, or it can provide a less invasive alternative means to healing. In developing nations, Qigong Therapy can provide an effective, low cost means of recovery for people who do not have ready access to technology. It is Master Hou’s intention that a Qigong Therapist training school will be created to make this modality of healing accessible to people everywhere. This school will have a curriculum and training that produce credentialed practitioners who can treat patients. A training school coupled with successful research will hopefully lead to Qigong Therapy licensing and insurance reimbursement for patients.

Research

Master Hou traveled to the United States in the early 1990’s. His success in treating patients gained the attention of the medical community and he soon became active in research using Qigong as a treatment for AIDS. Since that time, Master Hou has completed additional Qigong research for diseases including Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis of the knee. Presently, Master Hou is engaged in a research project with New York Medical College exploring the effects of Qigong on lower back pain. The study will analyze Qigong’s effects on biomarkers and patient pain reduction.

Gaining recognition for his teaching, research and treatments, Master Hou has received invitations to teach and speak in many locations and venues.
