This fasting method has been passed down in Master Hou's family for through over 5 generations, and he has been teaching it to students in the United States for more than 3 decades.

Many of Master Hou’s students and patients have cured themselves of food and environmental allergies through fasting. Many have stopped smoking and drinking alcohol. In addition to a host of important long-term health issues, there are physical and emotional improvements, too, such as clear skin, a flat stomach, increased sexual and reproductive function, and a new positive outlook on life.

In this course, students will receive Master Hou’s personal guidance during and after breaking the fast. During class, he will answer all questions that students have regarding their experience or concerns. In addition, he is continuously available by telephone throughout the fast.

Why We Fast

Hi, I'm Master Hou


I am the founder and director of the QiGong Research Society, which I started over 30 years ago. I have an extensive background and training in authentic traditional methods which I use to give healing treatments to patients and to teach my students healing through the power of nature, which is accessible to all of us. I have a deep understanding of Chinese Medical Theory and as it pertains to health and well-being, and I love sharing this knowledge with my students and patients.

I have several decades of experience guiding thousands of students through my water fasting program, which has proven great benefits for all. Many of my students return year after year to re-enroll in my classes, to fast with me and my group, and it would be my pleasure to have you join us in this upcoming fast.

Learn Special Fasting Exercises

One of the keys of this fasting is that Master Hou teaches you different exercises to detoxify your different organs. These special QiGong exercises for fasting are quick, daily, low-impact movements. They are a very important component of this fast.


By occasionally pausing in your day to perform these breathing and stretching movements, you will experience relief from common symptoms of the fast—headaches, weakness, lethargy, different types of pain—and maintain your physical energy.

Just Drink Water

A fast with no food, just water, is one of the best things you can do for your health. Fasting for 72 hours restores the free movement of your vital qi. That in turn makes the other organs more active, so you will be able to absorb more nutrition through them as well.
