Reconnect to the Source of Life
Winter is the season of Water, when the Kidneys and Bladder guide the body’s deepest healing and renewal.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Kidneys are the foundation of vitality—governing energy, fertility, hormonal balance, hearing, bone health, and the body’s overall resilience.
When Kidney energy weakens, it may show up as fatigue, hair loss, infertility, tinnitus, lower-back pain, hormonal imbalance, or premature aging—all signs that the body’s root energy needs restoration.
During this guided four-day Water Fast, Master Hou leads students through precise methods to purify hidden toxins, strengthen Kidney Qi, and rebalance the Five Elements and Six Organs.
As the Kidneys regain balance, Qi flows freely, renewing strength, clarity, and the inner stillness that defines the winter season.

Kidney Focus & Systemic Healing
Winter is the season of the Kidneys (Water Element)—the energetic root of vitality, fertility, hearing, bone health, and emotional resilience.
As Kidney energy is cleansed and balanced, students often notice clearer thinking, steadier emotions, improved sleep, relief from PMS or fatigue, stronger libido, and reduced tinnitus or lower-back pain.
This process helps re-establish harmony between the Five Elements and Six Organs, restoring balance at the deepest level.

Many participants describe a profound sense of calm, emotional release, and renewed life force—carrying the stillness and wisdom of winter into every season that follow.
Master FaXiang Hou is the founder and director of the Qigong Research Society. He has an extensive background and training in authentic traditional healing methods, which he uses to treat patients and to teach students self-healing through the power of nature.
At the age of 13, Master Hou began training in his family’s traditional Qigong healing system in China under the guidance of his father. The Hou family has maintained this healing tradition for generations. Master Hou explained that his great forefather, five generations ago, journeyed to a temple in Tibet seeking a means of increasing longevity for his family. The knowledge that he received was brought back to China and handed down through the Hou lineage ever since. After studying under his father, Master Hou continued learning from five accomplished Qigong masters of varying specialties, expanding his skills and understanding. Over his lifetime, he has treated thousands of patients using this ancient wisdom and refined healing art.
Tinnitus
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, tinnitus often reflects an imbalance in the Kidneys—the most active organ system during winter. When Kidney energy becomes weak or congested, the ears, which are governed by this system, can signal distress through ringing or pressure. Master Hou’s January 8 Water Fast focuses on cleansing and restoring harmony to the Kidney Water Element, clearing internal heat and toxins that may contribute to these imbalances. Through deep rest, organ-specific Qigong, and proper re-nourishment, participants often experience clearer senses, reduced ear symptoms, and renewed vitality rooted in strong Kidney energy.
Balance 5 Elements
The January 8 Water Fast is a complete internal reset designed to bring all Five Elements and Six Organs into balance. Guided by Master Hou’s teachings, participants follow a natural rhythm that allows each organ to release stagnation and restore flow between the elements of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. When this internal harmony is achieved, energy moves freely, emotions stabilize, and the body’s self-healing capacity awakens. This fast is more than abstaining from food—it’s a precise method of purification that aligns your internal elements with the season’s Water energy for whole-body renewal.
Fertility
In TCM, the foundation of fertility lies in the strength of the Kidneys, which store Jing—the body’s essential life essence. During winter, this system reaches its peak, making it the ideal time to rebuild reproductive energy and clear obstructions that hinder conception or hormonal balance. Master Hou’s January 8 Water Fast supports this process by detoxifying the reproductive organs, strengthening Kidney Water energy, and calming internal Fire that can deplete Jing. Participants leave feeling centered, revitalized, and aligned with the natural rhythm of life—the same rhythm that nourishes creation and renewal.
